Delivery and operation of the world's first GST onshore membrane full capacity tank
On February 23rd, the world's first GST onshore thin-film full capacity tank project, the Hebei Hejian LNG Peak shaving Reserve, completed its operational handover in Shanghai and was officially delivered for operation. The project is funded by Huagang Gas Group and constructed by EPC general contracting of the North China Branch of the Engineering Construction Company. Since the liquid test run of the project on October 15, 2022, it has been running smoothly for over a hundred days, with a daily gasification scale of over 1 million cubic meters. This is of great significance for optimizing the overall layout of natural gas reserves in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region and helping to achieve the national "dual carbon" goal. The successful delivery and operation of this project fully verified the progressiveness, reliability, economy, safety and environmental protection of LNG film technology, laying a foundation for the rapid promotion and innovative development of film technology in the onshore LNG industry. The latest generation GST thin film full capacity tank is a green and environmentally friendly low-temperature storage facility with excellent performance, reducing the steel consumption by 90% compared to traditional technologies. The GST thin film full capacity tank adopts advanced design concepts and is equipped with a nitrogen system, online gas detection system, and thermal angle protection system, which can greatly reduce the evaporation rate of stored liquid natural gas and effectively ensure the safe operation and integrity management of the tank. On the same day, the first domestic "Technical Specification for Design, Construction, and Acceptance of LNG Thin Film Tanks" edited by the North China Branch was released and promoted by the Industrial Gas Industry Association. This specification fills the domestic gap and plays an important leading and promoting role in quality assurance, technology promotion, and localization of equipment and materials for membrane tank construction.
