Developing mobile experimental equipment to enhance real-time emergency monitoring capabilities. The water quality monitoring of Tarim Oilfield is in place
On March 22nd, the Tarim Oilfield Experimental Testing and Research Institute used a portable multifunctional water quality analyzer and an infrared oil detector to conduct on-site monitoring of the surface water of the Tarim River, which is 200 kilometers away. The mobile water quality monitoring equipment developed by Tarim Oilfield has improved the real-time emergency monitoring capability of production sites. Thousands of oil and gas wells in the Tarim Oilfield are located in the desert and Gobi region, with limited vegetation. Tarim Oilfield has always put green production into the oil and gas exploration and development work, and actively carried out the monitoring of the chemical oxygen demand, petroleum, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, sulfide, anionic surfactant and volatile phenol of groundwater and surface water in the exploration area, so as to timely grasp the water quality situation, objectively and truly evaluate environmental risks, and further provide scientific decision-making basis for environmental protection. Previously, the Tarim Oilfield Experimental Testing and Research Institute used flow injection method to monitor water quality. Due to the large size of the instrument, it was unable to move to the site and could only send water samples collected on site to the base laboratory for analysis. However, the sampling points in each oil and gas management area are far from the laboratory, and it takes at least 1-2 days to produce water quality monitoring results. Real time dynamic data cannot be obtained on site, which reduces the timeliness of monitoring. Since the beginning of this year, the Tarim Oilfield Experimental Testing and Research Institute has vigorously carried out research and research to establish mobile experimental capabilities. If a water pollution event occurs in the oil field, the experimental equipment can quickly arrive at the site, carry out water quality sampling and monitoring, provide timely monitoring data for handling sudden water pollution events, and provide reliable technical basis for management departments and emergency agencies to make quick decisions. The Tarim Oilfield Experimental Testing and Research Institute has started with the development of portable instrument functions, conducted multiple on-site studies, and used multifunctional water quality testers and infrared oil meters to monitor the water quality at the operation site, and established a set of suitable on-site monitoring methods. Although these two instruments are small portable equipment, their functions have not been reduced, and they can still monitor the chemical oxygen demand, petroleum, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, sulfide, anionic surfactant and volatile phenol of water quality. When using mobile devices for on-site monitoring, the monitoring personnel only need to set the methods and curves in a portable instrument in advance. By developing and comparing the solution, the results can be produced within an hour, which can guide the on-site optimization and adjustment of water quality control plans in a timely manner, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of on-site decision-making.
